Everything Projul AI Connect Can Read and Write: A Complete Breakdown

Projul AI Connect reads and writes your Projul data through REST and MCP tools; a Read key covers every read, a Read-Write key adds the writes.

Clients

  • Read by name, email, phone, reference or id.
  • Write: create (dedupes on name plus email/phone), update, archive/unarchive, delete (cascades to projects, tasks, estimates and invoices; blocked by a paid invoice).

Projects and leads

  • Read by stage, status, client, reference or id; a lead is a project in a lead-stage status.
  • Write: create (existing or inline client, address, notes, assigned people, optional project or schedule template with a start date), update, delete.

Estimates

  • Read by project, client, status, reference, or the full section and line tree.
  • Write: create on a project, one per project; update name, tax, discounts and contract details; add/update/delete sections and lines; add a version (change order); delete a version or the whole estimate.
  • No publish, send, approve, reject, invoice or payment operation.

Templates and cost items

List, get, create, update and delete for estimate templates, section templates and cost-item-library entries. Copying a template never changes it.

Tasks

  • Read by project, status, type, assignee, date range, reference or id.
  • Write: create with windows, people, teams, a checklist or a repeat rule; update; complete/reopen; delete. Estimate-meeting and estimate-to-write tasks move a lead's pipeline stage.

Messages and files

  • Messages: read by parent record; create, update, delete. Client messages cannot be sent.
  • Files: read by project, estimate version, line item or message (not by task); get a time-limited download link; create an upload, update its label or attachment points, delete. 50MB limit; common image and document formats.

People, teams, tags, trades, taxes, discounts

People, tags, trades and discounts are read-only. Lead sources can be read, and the AI can add a new one when it sets a lead's source. Teams are fully readable and writable. Tax rates can be read and created, not changed or retired.

Webhooks

REST only: create an endpoint, list/get/delete it, rotate its secret, and read or replay deliveries. See How do I get notified when something changes in Projul?

Note: Updates need a fresh version stamp on estimates, change orders, templates, project updates, and client or project deletes; it is refused entirely on messages and files, which have no version at all.
